Following: Antiquitez et choses mémorables de l'église et diocèse d'Orléans, ensemble des vies des Evesques d'Orléans. Following: Histoire des vies de Evesques d'Orléans. Sought-after first edition, as it contains much that the author deliberately omitted from the second edition. (Brunet III, 967.) A fine copy, a little short-margined in places. A few light angular or marginal wet spots and a few ink stains in the upper margin at the end of the volume.

In-4, midnight-blue chagrin, smooth spine richly decorated with the arms of the city of Orléans, the statue of Joan of Arc and a view of Orléans cathedral, wide cold-stamped fillet and triple gilt fillet framing the boards with crowned numeral on the upper board and a large special iron bearing the title on the second board, gilt fillet on the edges, wide gilt inner border, gilt tr. (period binding). First edition and first printing. Illustrated with 14 hors-texte plates after Nanteuil, Français, Baron & Rouargue, 2 colored maps and numerous in-text figures. A superb copy in a rare condition, in full period binding decorated with special irons. The usual scattered foxing.
