Paper money CARTAMONETA. Tickets of the Cassa di Sconto of Florence 1817 Complete series of 5 tickets in fior di stampa that never appeared until 2004; The lot consists of: 1 ticket of 100 Lire, 1 of 200 Lire, 1 of 300 Lire, 1 of 500 Lire and 1 of 1,000 Lire as a maximum value. The pieces are printed from one side only, on the die the watermark highlights the words "discount box" in lower case; on the ticket a continuous wavy border is highlighted in watermark and across the top. In the center of the ticket an oval surmounted by the fleur-de-lis coat of arms, internally inscribed " discount box ticket of lire 100 (or value of the ticket ). On the edges, on the upper left side stand out the letters ACDS ( administration discount box ) , on the lower right CDS discount box . On the lower left side is engraved lion with lily , upper right caduceus with cornucopia . Reference: Gavello volume no. 1 ancient paper money , p. 190. Grand Duke Ferdinand III established the foundation for the issue with -MOTUPROPRIO- of Dec. 31, 1816 , with capital of 120,000 Florentine scudi. The banking institution issued the first Series of tickets in 1817, withdrawn and destroyed all the tickets after a few months due to the quality of the paper (very thick and counterfeitable), another type of paper with higher security features and watermark was used, still maintaining the same size, facial and nominal graphics. Extremely rare, no appearance on the market of the complete set of 5 Tickets - FDS
