Kenneth Puqiqnak (Uqsuqtuuq Inuit, 20th century). Carved soapstone depicting Sedna, goddess of the sea and marine animals in Inuit mythology, with inlaid eyes and in a texture parka with a fish form tail. Inscribed along the underside with syllabics and Canada Eskimo Art sticker. Kenneth Puqiqnak is the brother of Wayne Puqiqnak, a well known sculptor, as well as the son of Uriash Puqiqnak, also a prominent Inuit sculptor and figure in Uqsuqtuuq, Nunavut, Canada. Height: 7 1/2 in x width: 8 1/2 in x depth: 4 in. Weight: 2,280 g.
