Among connoisseurs of contemporary art she is known primarily as a portrait painter, author of the painting project "Ukrainian Portrait", historical portraits - reconstructions, such as "Young Lesia Ukrainka", "Young Ivan Franko", "Portrait of Roman Shuchevych". In 2011, she created a portrait of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko titled. "The President in an Embroidered Shirt." In 2016, the publishing house "Rodowid" published her book "Vulnerability to Beauty". - an album with reconstructions of folk costumes from different parts of Ukraine. The idea of creating a gallery of Ukrainian faces appeared in 2004, during the Orange Revolution. For 15 years, Kateryna has painted more than 200 contemporary portraits, using details of folk costumes, which, according to the artist, give the painting a special aesthetic clarity. Kateryna travels a lot in Ukraine, meeting people and painting their portraits in folk costumes. The beauty of folk costumes, their aesthetically perfect composition combined with the face of a modern person create a new image in which the person depicted appears as if magically reincarnated. Folk costumes blur the line between the present and the past. The artist's paintings are in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, the USA, North Korea and the Netherlands. The artist lives and works in Odessa.
