After Guillaume Coustou, Cheval de Marly Circa 1900, inscribed Coustou on the plinth, dark patinated bronze, reduced version of the sculpture now in the Louvre, which he created between 1740 and 1745 for Louis XV's Château de Marly. The extremely decorative depiction of an athletic young man attempting with all his strength to tame a wildly rearing, bridled horse saddled with a hide, on a naturalistic plinth, h 20 cm.
