Klein, Eitel - 1906 Hörlbach/Landkreis Weißenburg - 1990 Nuremberg, "Sommerstillleben", mixed media/panel, strongly abstract and color-intensive still life with fruit, a double portrait head and a leafy plant, signed and dated (19)59 upper left, titled and inscribed and numbered 230 on the reverse, minimal scratches, approx. 70x50cm, frame bumped, approx. 74x 54cm. Eitel Klein studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Nuremberg under Professor Rudolf Schiestl (1878-1931) and Max Körner and 1929 -1932 and at the academy in Munich under Karl Caspar (1878-1956), in 1933 he was banned from exhibiting, he occupied himself intensively with the international artistic developments withheld from him during the years of dictatorship, war and imprisonment, Although the inspiration of Expressionism and Post-Expressionism by Cezanne and Matisse had a recognizable influence on his works, he developed a completely independent style, creating landscapes, still lifes, flowers and figurative depictions as well as many applied works for private and public buildings.He was a member of the artists' association "Der Kreis" and the "Neue Münchner Künstlergenossenschaft", his works can be found in museums in Munich, Vienna, Nuremberg, etc. Literature: Vollmer 3, 59 et al.
