Blunck, A. - Johann Friedrich August Blunck 1858 Altona - 1946 Berlin, "Stilllleben", oil/panel, kitchen still life with apples and pewter jug, vase and cutlery, signed lower left, approx. 40x56cm, frame bumped, approx. 47.5x65cm. Blunck then studied painting and architecture, first in Hamburg and at the Kunstgewerbeschule Wien and then as a pupil of Anton von Werner at the Berlin Kunstakademie, after teaching in Hamburg he returned to Berlin and became a teacher at the municipal crafts school, later at the municipal Kunstgewerbeschule and director of its branch in Berlin-Kreuzberg, in addition to his teaching activities Blunck produced works as a painter, draughtsman and architect.
