Thein, Heinrich - Bowl - c. 1930, probably Somag Meissen, unmarked, ceramic, figurative art deco bowl, figure of a reclining tiger nestled around the rim, yellow/brown gradient glaze, glaze minimally chipped, d approx. 16.5 cm plus 1 sculpture, probably ceramic design, bozzetto, a kissing couple, man with pointed clown hat, discreetly colored, signs of age, h approx. 16 cm Provenance: Estate of the Thein family Artist information: Thein, Heinrich, 1888 Nuremberg - 1969 Haßfurt am Main, expressive small sculptor, after an apprenticeship as a potter in Lauf he worked from 1925 as artistic director of the Sächsische Ofen- und Wandplatten-Werke in Meissen, between 1945 and 1947 he was head of the design department at the Staatliche Porzellanmanufaktur Meissen, later he also worked as a freelance artist
