JUAN IGNACIO CÁRDENAS (Madrid, 1928-1993). Untitled. Ink drawing on paper. Without signature. Measurements: 19 x 12 cm; 32 x 24 cm (frame). Painter, sculptor, engraver and ceramist, Juan Ignacio Cárdenas studied architecture in Madrid and attended the School of Arts and Crafts of Madrid, where he is a student of Angel Ferrant. He held his first solo exhibition at the Ateneo de Madrid in 1959. His language is inserted in the neo-figurative tendencies of the sixties that derives in its evolution towards a post-surrealism characterized by its narrative intention. In his last period he was interested in the theme of bullfighting.
