[Photographs from the 19th and 20th centuries] Very nice lot with several interesting images: views by Buzin of a train at Grasse station (3), albumen prints of Mac Mahon's funeral in 1893 (3), an albumen print of a view of Algiers circa 1890, a large glass negative depicting a threshing scene with a machine from 1900, a fine set of phototypesets circa 1900 on the world of agriculture and crafts in France, various postcards depicting military celebrities (de Gaulle, Leclerc...) and members of European monarchies (Empress Zita, Alphonse XIII of Spain...), various press prints documenting political life in the 1930s, a variety of views including animated scenes, railway stations, landscapes, etc. Two panoramic views of the Mediterranean coast, circa 1900, unmounted on cardboard, are included. Lyon - MENESTRIER (Claude-François). Les divers caractères des ouvrages historiques, avec le plan d'une nouvelle histoire de la ville de Lyon. Lyon, Jean-Baptiste & Nicolas Deville, 1694. In-12, speckled calf, ornate ribbed spine, burgundy morocco title-piece (period binding). First edition, with a title vignette, a header vignette, a few figures in the text, and 2 folded plates (tables d'airain). This work reviews all early works on Lyon and corrects numerous errors; in a second part, it deals with the founding of the city of Lyon. A good copy. Corners and spine worn.
