(Copper drawing) - Michel CIRY (illustrator) / "Madame Bovary" by Gustave Flaubert, illustrated with 115 original etchings by Michel Ciry, Jean Porson Editeur, Paris, confection begun in 1947 and completed in 1951, 1 of 35 numbered copies on large Arches tinted vellum after 25 head copies, from a total limited edition of 170 copies, presented in a large wooden case stretched with orange cloth (18 x 35 x 28 cm, 8.8 kg): suite de 2 volumes, chacun sous étui (carton fort) et sous couverture rempliée avec eau-forte, à pagination continue de 475 p, chaque eau-forte est protégée sous serpente - Annexé aux 2 volumes, un troisième volume sous chemise à rabats contient: an original copperplate with a signed pen-and-ink drawing and a suite of 115 etchings in their final state, with 230 notes, each protected by a slipcase (half of this suite of etchings shows a trace of wetness that has affected the top edge, and the first 10 leaves are affected over 2 cm, including the drawing).
