Diana Coomans (1861-1952), The Messenger of Love, Painting under convex glass, signed and dated 1890, Dimensions: 24.8 x 30 cm + frame: 35 x 39.5 cm, very good overall condition, Two young women release a dove from a cage, to convey a handwritten message of love. Painter specializing in romantic depictions of the inhabitants of Pompeii before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, like her father and sister. She settled in Paris, then New York, where her paintings won her international renown.
