Corners slightly dulled, otherwise very good condition. The original edition dates from 1761. M. Tissot, from Geneva, studied medicine in Montpellier, before moving to Lausanne, where he became a famous physician, and then to Pavia. First edition of the 1st French translation authorized by the author. RERO Collective Cat. 2274101. "Special issue of the original Lausanne edition of 1768 with a title page mentioning, in addition to François Grasset's name, the name of the Lyon bookseller Benoît Duplain." A physician famous, among other things, for his treatises on the evils of masturbation, he also wrote popular medical books, with a view to developing preventive medicine.
