Sforza d'Oddi (1540-1611) was a jurist and great dramatist. A member of one of the eccentric literary academies of his time, the Insensés of Perugia, where he bore the nickname Forsennato, he composed three prose plays, the 1st of which is Erofilomachia (1572), with a new sense of drama, praised by Abbé Pino da Cagli in the second edition of the play, that of our copy.
