LEBER Constant. Des cérémonies du sacre, ou Recherches historiques et critiques... Paris et Reims, Baudouin et Frémau, 1825; in-8, contemporary binding in blond calf, boards framed in bold and light gilt fillets with scrolls at the corners, gilt arms in the center of the upper board, gilt cathedral on the lower board, spine with false nerves decorated with fleurons and arms, gilt edges. An interesting work inspired by the renewed interest in coronations following the accession of Charles X the previous year. It features a frontispiece view of Rheims cathedral, 33 plates of costumes worn by dignitaries of the kingdom, 5 beautiful double-page court scenes, and a double plate of coronation crowns and attributes (this one engraved by Couché fils). Attractive binding decorated with the coat of arms of Reims, with special iron depicting the cathedral. Freckles, a few dark spots on the spine of the first cover.
