Prints. Gabinetto firmiano. Folio. 300x225 mm. Contemporary Remondinian binding, polychrome marbled paper with caillouté technique. Pp. 8 including halftitle, 95, 1 blank. Sign of wear. Specimen with wide margins. Rare first edition. Very important source of art. This is the complete catalog of the print collection of Count Carlo Firmian, 1718 - 1782, governor of Austrian Lombardy from 1758 to 1782, one of the most important collectors of his era. The collection of graphic works of the Trentino count, imperial ambassador to Naples from 1754 to 1758, was auctioned in 1782, the year of his death. Purchased by Ferdinand IV of Bourbon, the collection includes more than 20,000 specimens, mainly prints.

Contemporary full calf, 5-rib spine, red title-pieces. Binding with minor defects (a few worn headpieces, a few worn corners). Good condition inside. A very decent copy. Complete with two folding maps.

[Exemplaire de Montesquieu] Les oeuvres de Mre François de Malherbe. Paris, Sommaville, 1638. In-4, [24]-228-226p. Copy incomplete of the portrait and with both parts bound inside out. The 226p part, Traité des bienfaits de Sénèque, is normally bound before the 228p part, les poésies. The final word is at the end of the poems. A copy from the library of the philosopher Montesquieu, bearing a handwritten bookplate in the title: "Ex Biblioth. D praesidis de Montesquieu Cat. Inscript." (ex-libris in the hand of the secretary). A note indicates that it is listed in the first part of the catalog, no. 24. Contemporary full vellum, two repairs to the vellum, scattered foxing and small stains, minor worm work. Several library numbers: 2076 then 2060 on the spine, n°1998 1/2 Eta on the 2nd flyleaf. Fine provenance.

Domingo Martínez Aparici (Valencia, 1822-Madrid, 1892) and French School, 19th century. The Supper at Emmaus and The coin of 100 florins or Christ preaching. Pair of etchings on paper. One after the work by Titian Vecellio di Gregorio (Pieve di Cadore, Italy, 1490-Venice, Italy, 1576) in c.1530 and preserved in the National Gallery, London, UK. Another after engraving by Rembrandt Harmensz Van Rijn (Leyde, 1606-Amsterdam, 1669) in c.1646-1650, preserved in the Rijkmuseum, Amsterdam, Netherlands. 47 x 60 cm. and 31 x 42 cm.
