In-4, 416 pp. Blond chagrin, spine ribbed with cold decoration, gilt title, cold floral framing on covers, large gilt fleuron in center of first cover, gilt roulette on edges, inner lace, richly decorated brown chagrin linings with gilt numeral N surmounted by an imperial crown in center, gilt edges (later binding using the lining of the original publisher's binding). Illustrated with a color frontispiece portrait of Josephine, an engraved title illustrated in color with a portrait of Marie-Louise, and 14 engraved portraits outside the text in color. Some light rubbing, occasional foxing or soiling. A fine copy.
