O. O. Howard, John Logan, and William B. Hazen Civil War-Dated Endorsements Civil War-dated endorsements by John A. Logan, William B. Hazen, and O. O. Howard on the reverse of a handwritten U.S. Military Telegraph by George H. Scott, one page, 5.5 x 7.5, April 24, 1865. In a telegram to Gen. Hazen, Smith writes from Goldsboro: "Have been here since 12th, please relieve me and order me to the front." On the reverse, Hazen writes: "Respectfully forwarded with the request that Col. Scott and all others belonging to this command at this New Bern and Wilmington, be ordered forward to their Regts. W. B. Hazen, Maj. Genl." Additional manuscript endorsements are signed "John A. Logan" and "O. O. Howard." Below is an autograph endorsement signed by Lewis Mulford Dayton: "Resp. referred to Genl. Schofield. Let Col. Scott join his command. By order of Maj. Genl. W. T. Sherman." In fine condition.
