Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: The present work is typical of the genre scenes in which Berg specialised. The composition of the present painting foregrounds the figure of a mother who carries her young daughter whilst reaching her arm out to her son, evidently transfixed by the parade towards which he gazes, and which the artist has merely hinted at through the loose application of the red, blue, and white paint of their uniforms.
