AN UNUSUAL EARLY/MID 19TH CENTURY EASTERN/SOUTH SEAS PLANTATION CHAIR with swivelling underarms carved with designs of fish, the front legs carved with winged figures and mask headed fish to the rears joined by a cross rail depicting birds; the remaining frame profusely carved and pierced the detailed scrolling leafage with a centre figure to the front rail – formally bergere seating.
