BENLLIURE, MARIANO (1862 - 1947)

Commemorative plaque study of the effigy of Diego Velázquez, with dates, in patinated ceramic. Inspired by the self-portrait kept in the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia. It was cast in different materials, such as bronze and ceramics. It commemorated the laying of the first stone of the House of Velázquez in the University City of Madrid. Incised signature and deterioration in the lower right corner. *Broken and damaged, requires restoration.
