Franz Iffland, Wasserträgerin around 1900, unsigned, dark patinated bronze, probably later gold-bronzed, female nude with topknot and headscarf, in bent posture carrying two heavy water buckets on a carrying yoke, mounted on a marble base, this standing on three indicated bronze feet, the bucket mountings renewed, signs of age and wear, h bronze 21 cm, h total 24 cm. Artist information: Sculptor in Berlin (1862 to 1935), was often represented at Berlin exhibitions with portrait busts and genre figures (several academy exhibitions, international exhibition 1891 and large art exhibition 1893), participated unsuccessfully in the competition for the Berlin Lessing monument in 1886.
