Alexander II in the streets of St. Petersburg signed ‘F.Teichel’ (lower right) black watercolor and whitewash on paper 36 x 24 cm executed circa 1870s Provenance: Collection of Countess Nina Zubova (1929-2018) Franz Teichel is a German draughtsman and watercolorist. Since the early 1850s, he lived in Russia, where he worked on orders of Alexander II, mainly depicting the imperial hunts.
