Bedeutende figürliche Wandapplike Height: 52 cm. France, around 1815. Cast bronze, chased and gilded. A figuratively depicted cupid with outstretched wings emerging from an acanthus cuff and holding four burning points above its head, one emerging from a fluted shaft and three from cornucopia arms. In the consignor's tradition, the design of the sconce offered here is attributed to Antoine André Ravrio (1759-1814), who was able to sell his bronzes to a prestigious audience, including Napoleon I.
