Louis XV-Kommode

Height: 97.2 cm. Width: 159 cm. Depth: 68.6 cm. Stamped "J.F. GAREE". France, 18th century. Over four cast, chased and gilded bronze sabots, the canted legs with a two-tiered body over a rectangular base. Slightly overlapping frame with partly à jour ormolu applications. Circular disk handles. Trapezoidal, profiled, red and white veined marble top following the lines of the furniture. Provenance: Sotheby's New York, November 20, 1993, lot 193. Formerly in the Barbara Woolworth Hutton Collection. South German aristocratic property.
