XVIII-(2)-463 pages. Contemporary half calf, spine decorated with romantic irons. Small epidermis on second cover, not serious. First edition. Crémieux p. 30. Important testimony by this lawyer, born in Lyon in 1800, President of the Chamber of Deputies from 1839 to 1848. In the performance of his duties, he demonstrated complete devotion to the government. 2. NORMANBY (Lord Constantine Henry, Marquis of): Une année de révolution d'après un journal tenu à Paris en 1848. Paris, Henri Plon, 1858. 2 volumes. 13 by 21 cm. (4)-416; (4)-486 pages + 1 f. errata. Contemporary green half-chagrin, spine with 4 ornate bands. Scattered foxing in a few sections. 2 corners dulled. A good copy. First edition in French. (E.O. in English: 1857). British ambassador to Paris from 1846 to 1852, Normanby followed the events of the 1848 Revolution on a daily basis. He recounted every detail in these memoirs, which had a great impact in England.
