AEROPHILATELIE - COURRIER ACCIDENTE DECEMBER 15 1928 - COMPAGNIE LATECOERE - Ligne CASABLANCA à TOULOUSE - (CASABLANCA to TOULOUSE route) Piloted by ROZES, the Toulouse-bound plane had to make a forced landing at Mlgrat (near Barcelona) due to a lack of visibility caused by thick fog. Residents came to the rescue, but the punctured fuel tanks leaked petrol, and a smoker may have been the cause of the plane's fire. 30 kilos of mail out of the 130 kilos carried were destroyed. The recovered mail, badly damaged by the fire, was stamped in Toulouse by the postal services: -LETTER from "TANGER CHERIFFIEN December 14, 1928", franked at 1F50 Moroccan stamp. Significant burn marks at the top of the letter. Bears the claw "AVION CORRESPONDENCE delayed and damaged as a result of the air accident on December 15, 1928".
