AEROPHILATELIE - COURRIER ACCIDENTE MAY 9 1933 - COMPAGNIE AEROPOSTALE - AVION LATECOERE 28 - Line CASABLANCA to TOULOUSE; Crew: pilots EMLER and RIGUELLE, radio navigator GUYOMAR. 3 passengers: Mr. Valette and Mr. and Mrs. Subiere. The plane leaves Barcelona at 2.03pm for Perpignan. Shortly after departure, the radio signaled that they were climbing above the clouds for better visibility, and asked for weather information on the Perpignan to Toulouse route. No further contact is made. At 2:30 p.m., at an altitude of 1,700 metres, in the village of Villadrau, near Villa Grande, the plane collides with a village house. The crew and passengers were killed, and the plane caught fire from leaking fuel. The mail, badly damaged by the fire, is recovered and forwarded with a special stamp: -LETTRE au départ de Casablanca, cachet à date 8 Mai 1933 - fortement incendiée en pourtour, porte la griffe justificative des postes de France : "CORRESPONDANCE AVION retardée et détérioré par la suite de l'accident aérien survenu le 9 mai 1933" (struck in violet). Also on the front, arrival stamp "TOULOUSE REBUTS 12 MAI 1933".

AEROPHILATELIE - COURRIER ACCIDENTE DECEMBER 15 1928 - COMPAGNIE LATECOERE - Ligne CASABLANCA à TOULOUSE - (CASABLANCA to TOULOUSE route) Piloted by ROZES, the Toulouse-bound plane had to make a forced landing at Mlgrat (near Barcelona) due to a lack of visibility caused by thick fog. Residents came to the rescue, but the punctured fuel tanks leaked petrol, and a smoker may have been the cause of the plane's fire. 30 kilos of mail out of the 130 kilos carried were destroyed. The recovered mail, badly damaged by the fire, was stamped in Toulouse by the postal services: -LETTER from "TANGER CHERIFFIEN December 14, 1928", franked at 1F50 Moroccan stamp. Significant burn marks at the top of the letter. Bears the claw "AVION CORRESPONDENCE delayed and damaged as a result of the air accident on December 15, 1928". Note: small plus: a small press article from the period is attached to the letter.

AEROPHILATELIE - RARE COURIER ACCIDENTE JULY 14, 1931 - The "TRAIT D'UNION n° 1" DEWOITINE 33/01, 650 HP Hispano Suiza engine. It crashed at NIJNI OUDINSK, Siberia - The crew (LE BRIX, DORET and MESMIN) attempted to set a world record for distance by flying to Tokyo from Le Bourget. It was a failure, the plane being destroyed after a hard landing caused by icing, but the crew was unharmed. Only 100 items of mail were saved and forwarded. -RECOMMANDED LETTER from Paris, franked at 6 Francs. French + Russian airmail label for forwarding to Tokyo - CAD July 6. On the back: various transit and arrival date stamps Tokyo July 22, 1931 - Muller 289 - Saulgrain 22. Note: presence of the letter sender's recommendation receipt.
