LOUIS XVI PERIOD GUILLOTINE DESK Stamped by Jean François Leleu In molded and carved mahogany, with ormolu and chased bronze ornamentation, the front opening with two flaps, a drawer in the waistband and two leaves in the lower section, fluted uprights, resting on tapered legs, stamped "J.F.LELEU" on the back. H.: 202.5 cm (79¾ in.) w.: 101 cm (39½ in.) P.: 39 cm (15¼ in.) Jean-François Leleu, received master in 1764 Provenance : Galerie Michel Schmitt, Paris, in 1994.
