[Binding with arms]. Set of 4 volumes (defects of use, not collated): 1. Factitious collection of 5 eulogies, 18th c. (Mgr. le Dauphin by Cerutti; d'Argenson by Le Beau; Socrate; Michel de l'Hospital, and cardinal d'Amboise by Talbert). Provenance: Alexandre de Bauffremont, 1773-1833 (arms on boards and engraved bookplate); then: cross anchored gules stamped on tail of spine. 2. Arms of Ennemond de Montmartin, bishop of Grenoble from 1709 to 1719, on Fléchier, OEuvres posthumes tome 2, Lyon 1712. 3. Arms of Montmorency-Luxembourg, on Histoire de Cicéron, tome 3, 1743. 4. PAROISIEN ROMAIN d'après les imprimés français du XVme siècle. Paris, Gruel et Engelmann, 1885. In-12, 687 p., plates, figs, navy-blue morocco, 5-ribbed spine, gilt title, interlaced initials BJG mosaic on upper board, double gilt fillet on covers, guilloché headpieces, brown morocco-lined spandrels decorated with interlacing and floral full iron, all gilt, double grades of moiré satin and marbled paper, gilt and chased edges [Chambolle-Duru] (slight rubbing to foot section). A very fine copy of this Paroissien, illustrated with a frame of woodcuts on each page, and a few full-page figures, bound with pomp and elegance by Chambolle-Duru. It is distinguished by the presence of 4 miniature plates (2 signed by Petit) printed on vellum and painted with gold highlights.
