France, mid-19th century. Officer's percussion pistol based on the model 1833 of the 2nd type. Cal. 17.1 mm. All metal parts white. Octagonal damascus ribbon barrel, not flared at the muzzle, with forty-eight hair rifling, no date or hallmark. Percussion rear lock with illegible mark (Manufacture d'Armes ... ?). Round-bodied hammer. Steel fittings. Smooth walnut stock, finger rest trigger guard, and screw cap for accessory housing. All screw heads chiselled. Steel ramrod with brass tip. Functional two-notch cocking mechanism, clean and play-free. Inside of barrel with minor surface oxidation and good scratches. Complete. 37 cm (barrel 20 cm). (Stock fractured behind the lock, trace of oxidation at the end of the barrel. Fairly good condition.)
