Contemporary fawn half-basane, 5-rib spine. Minor superficial flaws to binding (not serious), some scattered foxing. Numerous in-text illustrations. First collective edition. A native of Nîmes, Verdet was one of the most remarkable physics teachers of the mid-19th century. He lectured at the Ecole normale supérieure, the Ecole polytechnique and the Faculté des sciences.
