Two porcelain plates with flowers, Meissen, 1930 - 1940 Porcelain. Each mirror with polychrome "bouquet painting". Strongly rising rim with rocaille decoration in relief, partially gilt. The other plate with colorful flowers surrounded by gilded rocailles. The underside with manufacturer's mark (one 1924 - 1934, one 1934 - 1945) and impressed number "Z 98", the other plate with painter's mark "100199/199" and impressed mark "Z92" and "139". Einige Muster in lasiertem Prägedruck. - Teils minimal stockfleckig und leicht gebrauchsspurig. Vereinzelt mit Ausrissen. Insgesamt sehr gut erhalten. Art Déco - Two sample books with over 450 wallpaper samples. Oblong folio. Original percale with printed cover title (slight traces of wear). - The bindings each with company signet "P.G" in silver print and dated. One binding with the title "Cuirs lavables 'Sana' M.D.". Some models with an additional border pattern in a smaller format ("frise assorties"). The patterns with stamped model number on the reverse. - Founded in 1839, Paul Gruin was one of the largest wallpaper manufacturers in France. Over the course of the 20th century, the company brought numerous innovative patterns onto the market: washable, antimicrobial and lacquer-like papers. The two albums offer a wonderful overview of the various graphic styles that adorned Parisian interiors in the 1930s. The motifs, predominantly produced using the pochoir technique, show playful or geometric abstractions, marble imitations as well as numerous floral depictions, often in bright colours, sometimes in several colour variations with gold or silver accents. Some patterns in glazed relief printing. - Some with minimal foxing and slight signs of use. Occasionally with tears. Overall well preserved.
