A Gabonese female figure of the Punu and a relic shrine of the Fang, 20th century Full-round carved wooden standing figure of a breastfeeding woman with a child in her arms. Remains of kaolin painting and a typical scar tattoo on the face. Rubbed and slightly bumped on the legs. Height m.s. 65 cm. Comes with a woven reliquary supported by three wooden guardian figures in different poses with a central head attachment (lid handle). Nail eyes and remnants of feather decoration (domestic birds). Some losses and signs of age. Dimensions approx. 34 x 48 cm. Condition: III +

Jahrhunderts zurück und beinhaltete Tanz, Akrobatik und Musik für die Darstellung chinesischer historischer Geschichten und Folklore. Ursprünglich trugen die Darsteller echte Masken, die später durch eine Art Schminke ersetzt wurden, die speziell für jede Figur entworfen wurde. - Zhang Fei (gest. 221 n. Chr.), Rufname Yide, war ein chinesischer Militärgeneral und Politiker, der unter dem Kriegsherrn Liu Bei in der späten Östlichen Han-Dynastie und der frühen Zeit der Drei Reiche in China diente. - Sehr gut erhalten. Under passepartout. - The emergence of Peking opera dates back to the end of the 18th century and included dance, acrobatics and music for the depiction of Chinese historical stories and folklore. Originally, the performers wore real masks, which were later replaced by a type of make-up specially designed for each character. - Zhang Fei (d. 221 AD), surnamed Yide, was a Chinese military general and politician who served under the warlord Liu Bei in the late Eastern Han Dynasty and the early Three Kingdoms period in China. - Very well preserved.

Im Folgeschritt wird die Papierunterlage des Abzuges abgerieben, sodass nur die transparente Emulsion zurückbleib. Im Anschluss wurde die Arbeit rückseitig dann von Hand in Ölfarben koloriert. Crysstoleen waren zwischen den 1880er - 1910er Jahren sehr beliebt. - Edouard Bisson war ein französischer Maler des Fin de Siècle. Er ist vor allem für seine ätherischen Frauendarstellungen bekannt, bei denen er sich auf die Überhöhung einer stilisierten Form weiblicher Schönheit konzentrierte und die stillistisch stark an die Präraffaeliten erinnern. Bisson stellte merhmals im Pariser Salon aus und gewann 1900 die Bronzemedaille auf der Weltausstellung. - Auf dem Glas punktuell mit wenigen und oberflächlichen Kratzern. Insgesamt gut. In the following step, the paper backing of the print is rubbed off so that only the transparent emulsion remains. The work was then coloured on the reverse side by hand in oil paints. - Edouard Bisson was a French painter of the Fin de Siècle. He is best known for his ethereal depictions of women, in which he concentrated on the exaggeration of a stylised form of female beauty and which are strongly reminiscent of the Pre-Raphaelites in terms of stillness. - On the glass with few and superficial scratches in spots.
