A stone Osiris head with Atef crown and a ushabti made of faience with painted inscription, Late Period, mid-1st millennium B.C. 1) Head of Osiris made of dark, hard rock with Atef crown (white crown of the south, with two Maat ostrich feathers on the side and a uraeus snake on the forehead). Modern mounted on a metal base. Height without base 6 cm, with base 12.8 cm. Slight wear to the surface, otherwise a finely worked, attractive piece. 2) Ushbti made of faience. Figure with wig and body of a mummy, the bent forearms brought together horizontally to the center of the body, two painted flails extending from the hands. A vertical band with hieroglyphics painted on the center of the front. Height 15.7 cm. Comes with a modern wooden base on which the figure can be placed. Height with base 17 cm. Minimal, unnoticeable chipping to the surface, otherwise very well preserved and intact. Provenance: Rhenish private collection, acquired at the beginning of the millennium in the Rhenish art trade.
