Charter part (a truncated AMEN can be distinguished at the end of the charter, probably a charter part or chirograph) France, Albaret [Lozère], 1261 Dimensions: 210 x 175 mm. Attached: Fragment (or extract) of the account of extraordinary decimes granted to the king by the assembly of Orleans and collected in the dioceses of Mende, Rodez, Albi and Cahors. Undated document (probably before 1307, as it mentions Atho de Salvanhac, knight and collector of the "milicie Templi" (Temple militia or army). Document on parchment, in Latin Dimensions: 245 x 230 mm.

In-4, red chagrin, richly decorated smooth spine, large and beautiful gilt plates framed by a triple cold fillet interlaced on the boards, gilt edges, covers and spine preserved (Boutigny). Illustrated second edition. It includes 1 frontispiece, 16 large off-text vignettes on chine appliqué drawn by H. Vernet & H. Bellangé and 120 in-text figures. (Vicaire I, 324.) A superb copy, elegantly bound by Boutigny, on which he has reproduced, in the center of each of the 2 covers, the 2 faces of the bronze medal representing Bonaparte, General-in-Chief of the Army of Egypt, specially made for this edition, engraved by Ch. Bovy and offered to subscribers before the work went to press.
