The melon fluted baluster-shaped ewer designed with a curving swan-necked spout and an elongated scrolling handle, the hinged cover with a foliate thumbpiece and flower finial, the basin with flared and fluted sides to a flat base, both the basin and the ewer stamped with Tughra mark, the mark either that of Sultan Abdul Hamid II (1876-1909) or Mehmed V (1909-1918), lacking pierced support, basin 10.6cm high, 32cm dia., ewer approx. 30.3cm high, total weight approx. 60ozt (2)
