As the third book in the "Welttheater" series, this work was printed in a unique numbered edition of 330 copies by W. Drugulin in Leipzig on behalf of the publisher Georg Müller in Munich. This copy bears the number 192. Attention esteemed Georg Müller collectors: spine and endpapers, possibly also the cover, tastefully and expertly remade, using the old spine and title label. A good, clean copy.

XVI-289-(3) pages + 21-(2) pages (Appendix on the position of the man on horseback ...) and (4)-IV-412 pages + 6 plates h.t. Modern bradel boards. Scattered foxing, light marginal spotting on about forty leaves of volume 1. Some in-text illustrations. The second volume is a first edition (1850). A former soldier who fought in the Russian campaign of 1812, Saint-Ange "was [in 1820] appointed sous-écuyer répétiteur d'hippologie à l'école de cavalerie, écuyer de 3e classe en 1825, de 2e classe en 1838, de 1ère classe en 1847 et retraité en 1854." (4)-IV-206 pages + 1 double-page h.t. map + 16 h.t. plates. Modern iron-gray half-chagrin, 5-rib spine, covers preserved. Very good condition. 30 phototyped figures in the text. With a signed autograph letter from the author to the Minister of Agriculture. First edition. Viseur: "French veterinarian, senator for Pas-de-Calais, born in 1836, graduated from Lyon in 1860." (Mennessier de La Lance II-p. 63). 3. CARDINI (Fr.-Joseph): Dictionnaire d'hippiatrique et d'équitation. Paris, Mme Ve Bouchard-Huzard, Dumaine, Saint-Jorre, et Chez l'Auteur, 1845. One volume. 15 by 23.5 cm. XVI-751 pages + 13 plates h.t. Contemporary mahogany half-basin, smooth spine decorated. Good condition. Small paper loss in margin of last f. but not missing. Slight wetness on the margin of the first 4 leaves. First edition. "By a cavalry lieutenant-colonel. 13 line plates representing aplombs... The work is drawn from good sources; it contains much interesting information and may be usefully consulted." (Mennessier de La Lance I-p. 211). 4.
