Scrapbook. "Respectfully dedicated to Mr. Franz Dittmar teacher by the association Lithographia Senefelderfeier 1887". (Nbg.?) 1887. cl.fol. calligraphic dedication leaf and 22 cardboard sheets with altogether 60 (58 mounted) chromolithogr. illustr. lots in cloth portfolio d. With gold embossed word "Souvenir" on front cover (dusty, worn and rubbed, partly stained, clasp defective). Adhesive album as a commemorative gift for the teacher and writer Franz Dittmar (1857-1915). The album contains colorful and extraordinarily high-quality chromolithographs of historicism in formats between 10:11 and 18:13 cm, mostly 2-4 each on a cardboard sheet. There are landscape motifs (31; including 4 idealized views of windmills after L. H. White and 4 views of Kenilworth Castle), genre scenes with children (6; probably illustrations for children's books), breasts of girls and small children (8; monogrammed "FB", probably after Myles Birket Foster (1824-1899), soldiers (2; after Frank Feller), flowers (4) and anthropomorphic depictions of animals (8; cat, dog, goat and frog playing music and frogs engaged in human activities, probably after Antonio Munez Degrain (1843-1924). One of the panels is the size of a sheet and not mounted. It can be assumed that the illustrations come from a single chromolithographic establishment, possibly that of the Nuremberg publisher Stroefer. Some illustrations with undeciphered monograms: WB, EHH, JG, L.M. One sheet (slightly larger, not mounted) with a chromolithograph by Franz v. Stuck and co-printed text by Franz Dittmar: "Erinnerung an San Remo", on the return of Frederick III as German Emperor from his spa stay in San Remo. Nuremberg, L. Ammersdorfer, (1888). - Internally clean and spotless, the plate by F. v. Stuck with faint creases in the white margin. D

Hirsch-Hübotter zitiert eine Ausgabe 1690 in Jena, für uns nicht nachweisbar. - Munnicks (auch Munniks, 1652-1711) war ein aus Utrecht stammender, niederländischer Mediziner. "M. war ein ausgezeichneter Docent, der sich vorzüglich der Anatomie und Chirurgie gewidmet und darin in der That viel Gutes geleistet hat." (Hirsch-H. IV, 316) - Kupfertitel, Titelbl., erstes Textbl. und letzte Bll. mit starken Läsuren und altrestaurierten Fehlstellen, dadurch mit Bild- bzw. Textverlust. Am Innensteig eingangs unauffällig wurmgängig. Teils im seitlichen Rand etwas knapp beschnitten. Etwas gebräunt und teils leicht wasserrandig.

Mit der gestochenen Signatur, Datierung, Betitelung, Widmung und weiteren Bezeichnungen. - An den Rändern vereinzelt mit leichtem Papierverlust, einem kleinen Einstichloch und Falzspuren einer ehemaligen Montierung. Im weißen Rand und vereinzelt in der Darstellung braunfleckig und fleckig. Insgesamt noch gut. Prachtvoller, in den Schwärzen samtener und konstrastreicher Druck, die Figuren plastisch herausgearbeitet. Mit schmalem Rand. Genre Haid, Johann Jacob Der Abschied des Calas von seiner Familie. With engraved signature, dating, title, dedication and further inscriptions. - Some slight paper loss in the margins, a small pinhole and fold marks from a former mounting. Brown stains as well as stains in the white margins and occasionally in the depiction. Overall still good. Splendid impression, velvety and rich in contrast in the blacks, the figures vividly worked out. With narrow margins. - After the same-named painting by Daniel Chodowiecki whom the print is dedicated to.
