Fine copy of the second edition edited by Magini of Ptolemy's Geography with the addition of 37 'modern' maps among which the full-page world map by Rumold Mercator (1541-1599) and the 27 classical maps of the ancient world,all engraved by Girolamo Porro (1529-1600). 2 parts in 1 volume, Folio, (286 x 205mm). 1 world map outside text, 63 half-page maps, illustration in text of first part, vignettes on title pages, engraved headpieces and initials (some leaves slightly browned, otherwise in good condition). Contemporary full vellum binding, spine lettered in manuscript, speckled edges. (1)
