Italian coins NAPLES Charles V (1516-1556) Half ducat initials IBR with three dots above it - see Magliocca 31 et seq. AG (g 13.83) RRR The common Neapolitan silver half ducats in the name of Charles V all bear the initials IBR, initials of the mintmaster Giovan Battista Ravaschieri who held the post from April 26, 1548 to 1567. To distinguish the issues during this long period small symbols were added either under the bust on the D/ or on the R/ on either side of the eagles' heads. To the long and precise listing made by Magliocca, we are now going to add also the symbol present in this splendid specimen consisting of three dots arranged in a triangle above the letters IBR. The presence of these symbols is beyond interesting since this specimen presents the large bust that is always combined with the symbols placed on the R/. We therefore think this is a transitional issue from the small bust issue with symbols below the bust itself and the large bust issue with symbols on the R/. It should also be noted that this is a beautiful specimen with lustrous metal! - SPL+

Insgesamt wohlerhalten. Collection of three antiphonary leaves with a total of one pictorial initial and two fleuronné initials. Around 1500. Music manuscript in red and black on parchment, each designed on both sides. - With slight traces of age. One leaf with a backed tear. Overall well preserved.
