THE SOUND OF MUSIC: WOOD PEGGY (1892-1978) Mary Margaret Wood. American Actress. She is best remembered for her performance as the title character in the CBS television series Mama (1949–1957) and for her final screen appearance as Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music (1965), for which she received an Academy Award nomination. A very fine signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph, the promotional 20th Century Fox image depicting Wood seated in a half-length pose, in costume as Mother Abbess in the film The Sound of Music. Signed and inscribed in bold black ink to the upper left corner clear area of the image. Together with LEE ANN (1913-2004) Joan Boniface Winnifrith. British Actress. Ann had a small role as Sister Margaretta in The Sound of Music one of the two nuns who thwarted the Nazis by removing car engine parts, allowing the Von Trapp to escape. VG, 2
