A SILVER REPOUSSÉ ‘HUNTING’ PLATE, CENTRAL ASIA, 1ST MILLENNIUM AD The deep rounded sides supported on a recessed foot ring and flaring to a lipped rim, carefully embossed to depict a tiger hunting a deer, the central medallion surrounded by a circular band with tigers hunting deer, enclosed within two thin bands incised with foliate motifs. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe. Condition: Good condition with wear commensurate to age. Nicks, scratches, dents, dings, and warping, all as expected.
