During the 1st third of the 20th century, Paris became the world's leading venue for international events: 1900 Universal Exhibition and Olympic Games, 1925 International Exhibition of Decorative and Industrial Arts, 1931 Colonial Exhibition, 1937 Universal Exhibition (International Exhibition of Arts and Techniques Applied to Modern Life). Just a century ago, the capital also succeeded in securing the organization of the VIII Olympiad, the seventh edition of the modern Olympic Games, during the summer of July 5 to July 25, 1924.
