AN ANTLER NETSUKE OF A MONKEY AND YOUNG Unsigned Japan, 18th century, Edo period (1615-1868) A charming depiction of a seated monkey, dressed in a short coat, supporting its young on one shoulder as it clambers to grab the succulent peach raised in its parent’s hand. Generously excavated himotoshi through the underside and back. The antler bearing a fine, naturally grown patina. HEIGHT 3.3 cm Condition: Very good condition with typical wear and natural flaws.
