LOUIS MAJORELLE (1859-1926) Les butomées tea table Circa 1900 Signed 'Majorelle Amaranth, walnut, elm burl, zebrano, Macassar ebony, Indian rosewood, green ebony, courbaril, speckled elm, thuya burl, wacapou, partially stained ash burl, Honduras mahogany and patinated bronze H: 82cm (32.1/8in.); W: 91cm (35.7/8in.); 59,5cm (23.3/8in.) A signed 'Butomées' tea table in amaranth, walnut, elm burl, zebrano, Macassar ebony, Indian rosewood, yellow ipe, courbaril, bird's eye elm, thuja burl, wacapou, partially stained ash burl, Honduran mahogany and patinated bronze by Emile Gallé circa 1900. Footnotes: Provenance: Private collection, France Historical background: The model was exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900, as well as at the Ecole de Nancy exhibition at the Pavillon de Marsan in Paris in 1903.
