Theo Feucht, "Bei Obergrainau" Spring-like view over green alpine meadows with scattered spruces, in front of an imposing high mountain backdrop of the Wetterstein mountains with Alpspitze, Waxenstein and Zugspitze in bright sunlight, atmospheric impressionistic, impasto landscape painting with broad brushstrokes, oil on panel, signed lower right "Th. Feucht", on the reverse of the stretcher annotation "Theo Feucht München" and old handwritten artist's label with artist's address and title "Theo Feucht, München, Theresienstr. 36 I, RKK 1464 "bei Obergrainau"", dated on the reverse of the painting panel "22. Artist information: actually Théodore (or Theodor) Eugen Christoph Feucht, German painter and illustrator (1867 Ludwigsburg/Württemberg to 1944 Munich), studied at the Stuttgart Academy under Friedrich von Keller, 1892 Rome scholarship, then further training in Munich and Vienna, 1894-1914 active in Paris, attended the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français and the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, during the 1st World War as a German in France from 1939 to 1914. He was interned as a German in France from 1914-18 during the First World War, then returned to Munich, organised the Great German Art Exhibition at the Haus der Deutschen Kunst in Munich from 1937-42, a large part of his work was burnt in 1944 when his studio in Munich was destroyed, member of the Reich Association of German Visual Artists, source: Thieme-Becker, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Dressler, Bruckmann "Münchner Maler des 19./20.
