Königliche Eisengießerei Berlin, zugeschrieben Pair of chandeliers after a design by Karl Friedrich Schinkel Cast iron with chocolate-brown bronze patina, filled (with plaster?). Cast in several pieces and screwed together. H 30 cm. Royal Iron Foundry Berlin, attributed, around 1825. Provenance Potsdam private collection. Literature Cf. Arenhövel, Eisen statt Gold, Berlin 1982, cat. No. 341, with a design drawing of this "noble chandelier in the form of a chalice made of acanthus leaves". Arenhövel mentions a similar model that was cast in Ilsenburg.
