Travel writing case for the Countess of Paroy. Wooden core sheathed on all sides in black leather. Engraved silver locks and hinges. The lid is embellished with the iron inscription "Mme la comtesse de Paroy". Recessed from the main lid, a second lid with lock reveals a compartment for penholders and inkwells. The interior, entirely covered in blue silk, features a partially removable tray that opens up a compartment. Second half of the 18th century. H.6.2 W.40.5 D.31 cm. Wear and tear.
