Paris, Chez Auber de l'imprimerie Pierre Didot l'aîné, an XIII - 1804. 2 volumes in-folio, one volume of "portraits" comprising 66 hors-texte medallion portraits engraved by Levachez, surmounting a headband engraved by Duplessis-Bertaux and a biographical text. A volume of prints comprising 156 hors-texte plates depicting the main events of the French Revolution, notably by Fragonard fils, Meunier, Girardet, Ozanne and Veny. All plates mounted on tabs and protected by a serpente. Most of the "estampes" are printed before the letter, accompanied by a handwritten caption on a paper band. Title and table pages bound at the end of the portrait volume. Later full marbled calf binding, boards cold-stamped with a frame, 5-rib spine, signed Pagnant.
